Product Description

The IN high temperature melt pressure transducer has no mercury (Hg) or oil filling which are the typical fill fluids for the temperature isolating capillaries used in the construction of traditional melt pressure sensors.

IMPACT incorporates a Silicon on Insulator (SOI) strain gauge sensing element which can withstand very high temperatures without any need for capillary isolation.

The SOI chip is positioned directly behind a process contact membrane which exploits the high stability qualities of silicon strain gauge technology to provide a more stable reading requiring less re-calibrations over time.

The very high gauge factor properties of the SOI sensing element make it possible to use a process contact membrane that is 15x thicker than the ones used in traditional plastic melt pressure sensors and thus offer much greater abrasion resistance with a much more robust mechanical design.
